Punterzeilweekend

Lekker klooien op en aan het water vanaf het puntereiland aan de Belterwiede. Overdag tochtjes op het water, gezelligheid op het eiland en ’s avonds kampvuur. En af en toe helpen koken, afwassen en vegen. Leuk voor jong en oud.

Punterweekend (English)

‘Punters’ are the original boats of the ‘Wieden’ area in the North-West part of the province of Overijssel. Until well into the 20th century, punters were used as modern pickup trucks, like ferrying cattle between pastures, fishing, bringing peat, reeds or produce to markets, and of course for commuter transportation.
The typical shape of the punters evolved over centuries which made them ideally suited for this windy area with shallow lakes and narrow canals.
During the punter weekend you can try a punter for yourself. Or bring your own sail and oars boat. The atmosphere will be very relaxed with shared cooking and camping in the teepees on the island or on your own boat.
